Welcome HomeThe Community of Willow Creek at BearspawBearspaw is a vibrant and thriving community located just west of Calgary. What was once a farming and ranching district has now become a popular country residential area, largely comprised of small acreages and hobby farms. Situated just North of the Bow River, the Bearspaw area offers an abundance of scenery and wildlife. The landscape and views are diverse; from rolling hills, mountain vistas, city skylines and wooded bluffs – Willow Creek is an umatched property in the Calgary area. Bearspaw also has many amenities. The Bearspaw Lifestyle Centre offers a hall with kitchen facilities, a stage, gymnasium, pre- school, fine arts school, tennis courts, soccer & baseball fields, a playground, and a picnic area. They run a number of excellent programs ranging from sports for the kids to Yoga for adults. The Bearspaw School (part of the Rocky View School District) is located adjacent to the Lifestyle Centre and offers public education from Kindergarten to Grade 8. There are several equestrian facilities in the area as well as both a public and private golf course. This wonderful fusion of scenery and community is what makes Bearspaw such an enticing place to live, work and play, and while many of our neighbours would like to keep it a secret, we invite you to discover the good life for yourself in breathtaking Willow Creek at Bearspaw - Calgary's premiere development. Glenbow Ranch Provincial ParkThe Government of Alberta has approved the acquisition of 3246 acres (1314 ha) of ranchland near Calgary from the Harvie family that will be designated as Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park. Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park will legislatively protect this spectacular and increasingly threatened landscape along the north shoreline of the Bow River between Calgary and Cochrane. This new park will also provide a unique opportunity to celebrate and showcase Alberta’s rich ranching history and culture. By including these landscapes representative of the Foothills Parkland Subregion of Alberta, this site fills several key gaps within the Parks and Protected Areas network.
